Green mandarin oil is produced from the young, imature fruits of the mandarin. This expressed oil is a deep green colour – darker than you may be used to if you’ve been buying from other sources – that’s because it hasn’t been cut with anything else.
The rich, complex odour is very characteristically mandarin but the green form in particular shares many characteristics with the much more expensive neroli oil and can be used as an effective substitute in cheaper formulations or booster in more expensive ones.
